MARTIN NOWAK’S RESUME TO
Be a Food Safety Expert or Meat Specialist

Objective

I am looking for an employer that could use a person like myself. I have Computer skills and Meat cutter skills. I would like to be a candidate for openings’ in your Grocery Chain, possibly Meat Manager or Meat Manager Trainee. I am willing to work my way to the top if necessary. I have worked in the food industry most of my life, however I’m willing to learn anything put in front of me. I’m a fast learner, and a good listener. I get along with people too, and take criticism well. I know the Office 2000 Software package and use Excel and Access at work now to keep an eye on my budget. I also know how to use Fed-Ex’s Powership System and UPS’s Professional Online System. I would like to create a website for your store too. I could also inventory my Department sales weekly so I could control my inventory better. Creating Data Bases would help me with my ordering and eliminate wasted foods.

2005 – Present                    Food4Less                         Chicago, IL 60609

Meat cutter and Manager

This is my present position. Meat Manager and Inventory Control in the Perishable Deli Department.

I Write the department schedule, inventory the department, once every 4 weeks. I have been with them, but because they are understaffed, I have more work to do myself. I am a great trainer. I trained the staff at 47th and Damen store. I trained 2 Meat Managers’, who are quite successful now. I just need a break, they transferred me to Oak Forest and it’s too much traveling for me. I don’t have many call-ins, because I hardly ever get ill. I think I could be a Meat Manager for any company that has the customer on their agenda. I also am on the Nation Registry as being Food Safety Certified, along with Certificates from Illinois and Chicago.

2003 – 2005                     Tony’s Finer Foods                         Chicago, IL 60647

Meat cutter and Manager

I was a Meat Manager for Tony’s for 2 years, but my father became Ill and I had to take care of him. I did work part-time while caring for my father. I knew that I wanted more out of a job than just money. My father left me with enough funds to take and look for a better job. That’s when I applied at Foods4Less. I got the job within 2 weeks of applying. I only wanted to be a part-time cutter, but soon I was the Manager. They fiqured out that I have experience that isn’t taught in school.

Summary of qualifications

2000 – 2003                     Reagan Meats                           Glenview, IL  60625

Meat cutter and Manager

I left Gingiss Formalwear to get this business running properly and have succeeded. We have a great business except that I would like to work in the city. I live on Hamlin and Shubert and would like to work closer to home. Your stores are located close to were I live and I’m part of the community still. My father still lives on Monticello and Fullerton. I’m sure you could find a position for a dependable employee like myself in one of your Grocery Stores.

I could create a Website for you that you could use for those who like to surf the web. It would contain recipes; I could translate it into Polish and Spanish if necessary. I don’t think that the website will do anything to increase your business, but it could help with older people getting home deliveries. The order form would be simple to follow. I’ve learned how to use the internet as a sales tool. I have my own Website www.grillmeats.com. I have recipes, cooking instructions, and consumer information on it. Check it out some day if you get a chance. I never thought that the computer would be my forte, but it has become a great asset to me. I’m single, with 2 dogs as my family. I need to be involved with my job and I think I could help you with your business. I’m not looking to get rich, just survive and keep busy. Tony please call me for an interview soon.

We had a Reagan Meats Website, but he couldn’t handle the orders we were getting and thought it was a waste of time.

Last year I sold over $6,000 worth of meats through my Website. GrillMeats.com.

1996 - 2000                   Gingiss Formalwear International Addison, IL

Distribution Manger

When I arrived at GINGISS FORMALWEAR I started out at as a shipping clerk, I had no experience with computers at all. I worked my way up the ladder until I became the shipping and receiving manager; my final title is Distribution Manager. Then I set up the department to run more efficiently, that included cutting down on shipping costs and run the department with a minimum amount of clerks. We now do 90% of the billing when we ship the product to our customer. This cut labor costs, and cut our shipping supplies overhead by 30%. We now use recycled boxes instead of purchasing new ones’. I even had Gingiss lease a cardboard bailer so we could cut down our bill with IBF. This department now runs very efficiently, the department has cut down on labor and supply costs. We also passed our OSHA inspection. I’m also a Certified Forklift Driver. ____________________________________________________________
