1) Know Your Butcher

This Section will Guide through the ways to talk to a Meat Person.

Ask Your Butcher About How Thick To Get Your Cut.
  • Thick cuts of beef are great for people that like blood in the center of their cooked steaks.
  • When you do get a thick cut of meat, pick out or ask to have cut a 1"  or thicker steak cut.
  • I recommend that you marinate the meat for at least 24 hours before eating.
  •  This rule is especially true if you purchase any kind of Select Graded Meat
  •  which is always available at your local market.
  • Be sure that the piece of meat your buying has plenty of marbling in it.
  • It may look fatty, but it will melt in your mouth after you cook it.

  What to Ask For

•Thick steaks are good for those who like Rare cooked meats
•Thin cut steaks are for the person that wants Well Done cooking
•Ask your counter person if there’s any more product in the holding cooler?
•Could you please cut me a fresher steak or thicker slice of meat?
Your Meat Professional or Expert

•Does he have your best interests in mind?
•Do you see a lot of customers when you visit the your Meat Market?
•Does your Meat Market cut the Meat on the Premises?

Most chain stores get precuts (Meat That Is Cut and Packaged For Resale).
